Philosophy Amidst Nature
Houseguests of the Miners could walk or ride in the peaceful and contemplative forested acreage of the farm. Along the miles of wooded roads visitors may have encountered gently flowing streams, groves of birch or visited Woodside rostrum to listen to a choir sing. Down these scenic curving paths boulders with large plaques attached permitted passersby to pause and reflect upon the expressions of gratitude for nature’s beauty that were contained in the poems chosen for the plaques. All such adages clearly reflected the philosophy of the Miners as well as the value of work and diligence.
